Rochelle Smarr, Ed.D., is the Director of Experiential Learning at UC San Diego, where she focuses on enhancing student engagement through experiential opportunities both on campus and within the community. With over 16 years of experience in community engagement, she has successfully facilitated programs like the UC Washington program and academic internships while advocating for historically marginalized students. Dr. Smarr’s efforts have been recognized nationally, earning her the 2022 LEAD California Richard E. Cone Award and current roles with the International Association for Research on Service-Learning and Community Engagement.
