Celebrating Charnecia Weyant: Bringing Communities Together with Style and Heart

Charnecia Weyant, a visionary in the mobile glamping business, is rapidly making her mark in Southern California with an innovative approach to community gathering and celebration.

From Military to Glamping: A Journey of Inspiration

Having embarked on her business journey in February 2024, Charnecia has seamlessly transitioned from a distinguished military career to a thriving entrepreneur in the glamping industry. Influenced by the hearty gatherings orchestrated by her grandmother, Charnecia has embraced the art of creating “intimate settings in stylish decorative tents” that resonate with her familial legacy of connection and joy.

A Canvas of Opportunities

For Charnecia, an empty space is a canvas awaiting transformation. With skills in event planning, interior design, and a keen attention to detail, she crafts tailor-made experiences that breathe life into every gathering. “I love being able to take a blank canvas and create a masterpiece,” she shares, reflecting her passion for design and community engagement.

“You can’t live in the past, that’s already done. What are you doing in your present to prepare for your future?”

This personal mantra has propelled Charnecia through various life challenges, reminding her of the importance of perseverance and vision in both life and business.

Community Impact and Advice

When asked about the essentials for success in her industry, Charnecia emphasizes the importance of a reliable team, brand authenticity, and proactive community engagement. Her advice to aspiring entrepreneurs is clear: “Find your community and get creative. The right people will recognize your value, and your business will flourish on that authenticity.”

Living a Fulfilling Life

Charnecia’s life story is a testament to resilience and multifaceted success. From navigating life transitions to juggling roles as a wife, mother, and student, she exemplifies that with determination, anything is possible. Her advice to the younger generation is poignant: “Don’t live your life for others’ approval, pursue self-fulfillment and true happiness will follow.”

A Legacy of Warmth and Welcome

Ultimately, Charnecia strives to leave a legacy similar to that of her grandmother—an inviting spirit that makes everyone feel safe and cherished. Whether through her business or personal life, her mission is to cultivate spaces that echo with laughter, safety, and unforgettable memories.

Why Did You Start My Black City?

A MESSAGE FROM BRANDON BORNES (FOUNDER OF MY BLACK CITY)

We often worry that we don’t have enough resources in our community to go around. When we see someone in our community doing what we do but better, we get a little nervous or intimidated. Instead of using competition to spur on our creativity, teamwork, work ethic and innovation, we become soo overwhelmed with our own fears and insecurities that we gossip, sabotage, or hurt one another. This has happened to many exceptional people in our community. We need to do better and lead by example. Our love for each other needs to be greater than our fear of failure.

If we had to simplify into one word what My Black City is about, it would be LOVE! Because Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. Love never fails.

When people come in contact with our brand, that’s what I want them to experience. It‘s not an easy aspiration to live up to, but we believe it‘s worth fighting for and it‘s what we need as a community.
