“Trinity Reign Roberts is an example of when she sets her sights on something the sky is the limit. She has overcome many obstacles and continues to set a standard as a young entrepreneur. In 2020, she was announced as the high school winner for the CEO Entrepreneurship Business Grant through Star Girlz Empowerment.

Her passion for social media marketing, photography, film, editing, public speaking, and creative content has landed Trinity paying gigs and allowed her to expand her portfolio. A part of Trinity’s legacy building has been to open her own bank account and a joint business account with her CEO mother. In 2019, she learned coding and received the Entrepreneurs Award at the Evening Under The Stars banquet, through Star Girlz Empowerment, for providing her business pitch to Operation Hope. She was invited to Hollywood, CA for a film internship at Warner Bros. and Universal studios. In April of 2020, she made a documentary about the Black Panther Party. In May 2020, she made a PSA encouraging others to “Go Vote.” And last, but not least, I had the pleasure of hiring Trinity to be one of our hosts for the 2020 Steps To Success Youth Positive Recognition Campaign.

So it goes without saying why I feel Ms. Trinity Reign Roberts should not only be a part of this magazine, she should be considered for a youth paid internship opportunity to bring you what she calls “Trin.got. the. tea.”

My Black Colorado Interview

If you are in school, what school do you attend and what year are you?

I attend Denver School of the Arts and I am in the 9th grade.

What do you think others would say they like the most about you? Explain why.

Others would say they like my ambition most. I always look at the bigger picture and aim for the stars when new challenges arise. I hope to make my loved ones proud and have fun along the way. My ambition helps bring joy to others and uplifts the environment around me.

When you are not in a class, what are the things you enjoy being involved with? Explain why.

I enjoy being an artist/filmmaker. Painting, writing, and filmmaking are some of my biggest passions in life. I find painting to be very therapeutic along with writing/producing stories. I tend to do these activities in my free time often.

What is the best advice someone has given you recently, who gave you the advice, and how does it apply to your life?

A friend once told me that everything will be okay in the end and if it’s not – okay; it’s not the end yet. This resonated with me deeply because I tend to feel defeated after facing failure. When I reassess and realize that failure doesn’t mean it’s the end, I’m motivated to try again. This advice has provided strength and determination to the way I handle challenges.

What is one thing you want to get better at? Explain why.

One thing I want to get better at is managing my business and bettering myself. I hope to grow up into the person I want to be so that I can feel content with my life.

What is one piece of advice adults need to hear to help them connect with the younger generation better?

One piece of advice I think adults need to hear is that Generation Z is not overreacting. A lot of adults out there think Gen Z’s protests and political change is unnecessary or violent. If you stop and listen, you’ll see we’re more mature than you think.

What accomplishments or awards are you most proud of? Explain why.

An accomplishment I am most proud of is getting into the School of the Arts. I had dreamed of going to that school for a while, and to know my hard work paid off, in the end, was a very motivating thing to see. It helped give me the confidence to strive for more goals and that I’m capable of more than I think.

What impact have you made in the community that you are most proud of? Explain why.

An impact I had on the community I’m most proud of is my work with the homeless. I’m a member of an empowerment group that works to provide essential events to those in need. Blankets, soup kitchen, and clothes are all projects I’ve worked on in hopes of helping the homeless community. I’m proud to know that I worked to help others.

What do you think you want to do for a career?  Explain why.

My dream career is to be a filmmaker. I have wanted to enter the film industry since I was 4 years old, and I hope to one day make that a reality. Filmmaking is magical because you get to make a story come to life, and I would love to have that as my career.

What role have your parents played in helping you excel in life?

My parents have nurtured me and given me the mental tools I need to make it in this world. They have told me their mistakes so that I can learn from them and helped comfort me when challenges arise. This has helped me excel in life and make decisions with wisdom and maturity.
