Stephany Rose Spaulding | Spaulding for Congress

Born on Chicago’s Southside in 1978, her family and her faith community played important roles in the formation of her core beliefs. Her day-to-day life centers upon the charge to “do justice, love mercy and walk humbly with our God” (Micah 6:8.) One result of this is her firm belief that what we really need in government are people willing to sacrifice and treat others right, and with respect.

Stephany Rose Spaulding, daughter of Chicago’s Southside, is running to bring investment and hope to a neighborhood rich in history, love, and culture, but where a grocery store and local businesses once stood, there are now vacant lots and boarded-up shops. Following in the footsteps of her working-class parents, Chicago Public School educators in their own right, Spaulding is a pastor, author, professor, and national activist and organizer who has been guided by the Chicago winds of her faith, family, and community mentors. She is currently the Spokeswoman for Just Democracy, where she has worked alongside the King family as a champion for voting rights legislation, Spaulding has dedicated her life’s journey to the knowledge and resources needed to demand justice and equity for all.
