What did you do in the service?
Chaplain
What area of your life has the military helped you grow the most in?
The military helped me grow most in my care and concern for others. Regardless of their race, background, religion. It taught me to see people and love them the Way God sees and loves me.
What is your perspective of patriotism?
I believe when we see to the needs of our fellow man, by protecting them from inequities and injustice, building them up and helping them be the very best version of themselves they can be …that is the mark of true patriotism.
What do you do, post active duty
I am still actively involved in local ministry at my church, Soul Care Full Gospel Center in Commerce City, CO. I continue to visit the sick, feed the homeless, and help however I can to try to make life better for the marginalized in our society. I work for Comcast as a Sr Analyst. I am a member of Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority Inc, Theta Zeta Sigma Chapter where I currently hold the office of Parliamentarian.
What are things that people should consider before they decide to serve their country?
I believe a person that is considering joining the armed forces should first know themselves. Know who they are, know what they believe in, and know what values they hold dear. I think that the military should not be used as a way of trying to find oneself but as a way of trying to better oneself in providing a service to their country.
