What role do you play in your Industry?

  • I am a leader, trailblazing and paving the way for young people that will come after me that will take on leadership roles in different capacities assert their voices and make meaningful change through service, leadership and mentorship.

What year did you start in your industry?

  • I started my organization in 2013.

What Certifications, Degrees, Titles and Experience do you have in your industry?

Why & How did you get involved in your industry?

  • I love helping and serving my community, it is where my passion and purpose is driven by impact and influence in a meaningful way as we all deserve a better quality of life and this can be achieved through access and opportunity. My service in my industry propelled when I began competing for Mrs. Colorado America in 2013 which was a pivotal point for my service to my community. When we understand our Civic responsibility is when we can contribute with purpose. I pride myself on leading with integrity and class modeling the behaviors that I would like to see and creating a path for young people to be successful at every level of service is my biggest reason why. Education is key and knowledge is power to those who grab hold and embrace it.

What do you love most about your role in your industry?

  • I love that I am an influential, respected leader that has empowered and inspired many people nationwide to step into their power and own every space they enter in. Also, being loved and embraced by young people of all races as a leader and mentor is why I continue to level up so they too can reach beyond the surface of their purpose and propel to a level of greatness that exceeds their expectation. My why is bigger than most because it is purpose driven and authentic. Trailblazing for others and being courageous enough to lead unapologetically is the biggest WHY for me.

What is the best advice you have received about how to impact your industry?

  • Stay focused, balanced and consistent because your persistence will be rewarded as long as you finish strong!

What do you think are the top 3 things that help people excel in your industry?

  • Creating access and opportunity for community Consistency. Courage to take a leap of faith and try something new.

What encouragement would you give to those who are interested in being in your industry?

  • Start where you are, build as you go, grow as you go and never let anyone tell you that you cannot achieve your goals. Finish Strong! Resilience is required!

What do you think is the most important qualities for people to have in your industry?

  • Be intentional on being a Transformational Leader Great character Great work ethic Great communication skills Great customer service skills The ability to fail forward Tenacity, drive and courage

What obstacles have you overcome, or are you overcoming to excel in your industry?

  • I refuse to lose and when obstacles are placed in front of me I stay the course and not allow distractions to cause me to veer away from my dream as dreams do come true if you put all your Hope and Faith in God!

What accomplishments are you most proud of in your life?

  • I am proud of the fact that I raised five children who are now adults and contributing to society in a meaningful way. I am proud of the fact that I am running my own nonprofit organization, leading my community, running for office, mentoring others, and maintaining a 3.8 GPA a in school. I am proud of the fact that I have not quit on any of my goals and that I am staying the course and focused on finishing strong. I am proud to be a grandmother of 10. I am honored that I am honored and respected by my community as an influential leader paving the way for others.

Who is is one person that has influenced your direction in life? Explain How.

  • My mother has influenced my direction in life. She is a woman full of strength, courage and wisdom and the life she lives is built on resilience and it has shown me how to be resilient, never quit and that it is okay to go against the grain, take a leap of faith and try something new and live my life unapologetically the way that I want. My mother encourages me to be the best version of myself at all times and never let anyone see you sweat!

What advice would you give to the younger generation?

  • Set achievable goals. Whatever you do finish strong. Be the best version of yourself. Never give up. Resilience is required. Do not allow anyones no to dictate your success. In all that you do, do it with courage, drive, tenacity, and hope. Believe in yourself when no one else does. Respect yourself and carry yourself with class. Presentation is everything so show up everyday your best self.

What do you want your legacy to be?

  • I am a carrier of hope and I don't allow anyone to stop me from being great and whatever I set my mind to do I will achieve it because my faith is strong and my determination is unmatched and I am the epitome of resilience in a world that says I can't do the great things that God called me to do and I will finish strong. In the face of adversity, YET I RISE!

What else would you like people to know about you?

  • I am successful today because I did not give up yesterday! Stay the course.
