Spotlight on Kiara White: The Artist Behind Artistry By Key

In a world where self-expression is key, Kiara White stands out as an innovative force in our community. Owner of Artistry By Key, Kiara has dedicated herself to helping people feel confident in their skin through a combination of artistry and skincare. For high schoolers and middle schoolers looking to embrace their unique selves, Kiara is much more than a beauty expert—she’s an inspiration.

Kiara’s journey began in her teenage years, where she discovered her passion for beauty while experimenting with different makeup techniques on herself and friends. Recognizing the transformative power of beauty, she decided to pursue her dream and opened her own salon, Artistry By Key, in Oceanside. This decision was not just about starting a business; it was about creating a space where individuals could embrace their true selves.

At Artistry By Key, the philosophy is clear: beauty is not just skin-deep. Kiara emphasizes the importance of skincare and self-care, combining these elements to create unique experiences for every client. Each service, be it waxing, makeup application, or skin treatments, is tailored to individuals’ needs, ensuring they leave feeling refreshed and empowered.

Kiara’s warm and welcoming personality makes her studio a safe haven for everyone. “I want my clients to feel relaxed and confident when they walk in,” she says. Through her artistic approach, she encourages young people to explore their identities and express themselves without fear of judgment. It’s not just about looking good; it’s about feeling good from within.

Kiara’s commitment doesn’t stop with her business. She actively engages with the community by organizing workshops and events. These gatherings are designed to educate young people about beauty techniques, skincare routines, and self-love. Participants learn how to enhance their natural beauty, empowering them to take ownership of their appearance and celebrate their individuality.

As a true role model, Kiara also addresses the challenges that young people face in today’s world. She regularly speaks about body positivity and mental health, helping her clients and community understand the importance of self-acceptance. Her mantra, “Your skin tells your story, embrace it,” resonates deeply with many, reminding young individuals that everyone has their journey and struggles.

For those considering a visit to Artistry By Key, expect an experience that goes beyond a simple beauty treatment. You will find a supportive environment, professional expertise, and a sprinkle of creativity that transforms your beauty routine into an art form. Kiara’s vision is to redefine beauty standards for young people and encourage them to express themselves authentically.

Next time you’re in need of skincare or beauty advice, remember Kiara White and the positive impact she is making in our community. With her creativity, passion, and commitment, Kiara not only beautifies our skin, but she inspires us all to embrace who we truly are.

Why Did You Start My Black City?

A MESSAGE FROM BRANDON BORNES (FOUNDER OF MY BLACK CITY)

We often worry that we don’t have enough resources in our community to go around. When we see someone in our community doing what we do but better, we get a little nervous or intimidated. Instead of using competition to spur on our creativity, teamwork, work ethic and innovation, we become soo overwhelmed with our own fears and insecurities that we gossip, sabotage, or hurt one another. This has happened to many exceptional people in our community. We need to do better and lead by example. Our love for each other needs to be greater than our fear of failure.

If we had to simplify into one word what My Black City is about, it would be LOVE! Because Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. Love never fails.

When people come in contact with our brand, that’s what I want them to experience. It‘s not an easy aspiration to live up to, but we believe it‘s worth fighting for and it‘s what we need as a community.
