Hunt, whose story is a testament to faith, resilience, and the importance of family. Gale embodies the spirit of love and community, inspiring everyone around her with her unwavering belief in God and her joyful approach to life.

From a young age, Gale found joy in singing, always lifting her voice in praise to the Lord. “Singing just lifts me up whenever I’m down, lost, or even happy,” she shares. It was this deep connection to music and faith that laid the foundation for her spiritual journey. Gale opened her heart to God, feeling His presence guide her through life’s ups and downs. She strives to show God’s love to everyone she meets, touching lives with her warm smile and kind words.

Gale’s involvement in the community extends beyond her love for music and faith. Over the years, she has built a career that reflects her hard work and dedication. From there, she took on various roles, including working at the Marine Corps Exchange and the San Onofre Nuclear Power Plant as a guard. Gale’s journey in the workforce continued as she drove buses for NCTD and later worked as a cashier at Albertsons and Vons. Though she had to stop working in 2003 due to illness, her impact on her colleagues and customers remains unforgettable.

Just keep Him first and keep on praying; He will see you through.” Gale’s strong family values have played a central role in her life. With the unwavering support of her mother, her twin aunt, and her uncles, she realizes how crucial family is during challenging times. “I love God for blessing me with so many memories of my family,” she adds, emphasizing her gratitude for the love that surrounds her.

Gale’s faith runs deep, and one of her favorite Bible verses is Psalm 34:1: “I will bless the Lord at all times; His praise shall continually be in my mouth.” This verse serves as a reminder to give praise to God, regardless of life’s circumstances. Gale finds strength in this scripture, especially when faced with health issues, and it reassures her that God hears her cries.

As a remarkable role model, Gale hopes to leave a lasting legacy for future generations. “To love one another as God loves me. Stay in the Word of God, and He will direct your path,” she shares with heartfelt conviction. Her message of love and faith resonates not only within her family but throughout the community.

Why Did You Start My Black City?

A MESSAGE FROM BRANDON BORNES (FOUNDER OF MY BLACK CITY)

We often worry that we don’t have enough resources in our community to go around. When we see someone in our community doing what we do but better, we get a little nervous or intimidated. Instead of using competition to spur on our creativity, teamwork, work ethic and innovation, we become soo overwhelmed with our own fears and insecurities that we gossip, sabotage, or hurt one another. This has happened to many exceptional people in our community. We need to do better and lead by example. Our love for each other needs to be greater than our fear of failure.

If we had to simplify into one word what My Black City is about, it would be LOVE! Because Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. Love never fails.

When people come in contact with our brand, that’s what I want them to experience. It‘s not an easy aspiration to live up to, but we believe it‘s worth fighting for and it‘s what we need as a community.
