I am a thoughtful leader, a courageous advocate, and a skilled educator and coach. With a clear understanding of the nuances found in diverse settings, I am an action-oriented thinker that promotes the skills and leadership abilities of others towards sustainable outcomes. A passionate learner, exploring the history, and reflecting on the “shoulders on which I stand” is an integral component of my success and approach to collaboration and mobilization. Justice and liberation ideologies motivate me to build a lasting legacy in the fight for education equity. I held the position Chief of Staff, Denver Public Schools and Chief, Family Community Engagement for the district. In my current role, Executive Director of Student Success for Aurora Public Schools, I am proud to lead the Mental Health and Counseling, College and Career Success, Behavioral Health Systems, Family Engagement, and Young Parent Support teams.

I’m really excited to work alongside passionate leaders who put students and families first. I have a strong belief in community engagement and listening to those impacted most by potential decisions so I am eager to dive into hard conversations and have tough conversations to ensure equity for all, while at the same time, celebrate our successes and our wins as African American leaders in education.

I have served as a faculty member in the Department of Africana Studies at Metro State University, where she teaches Introduction to African-American Studies and the Education of African-American Children. I have held several teaching positions in K-12 and in higher education, including teaching kindergarten, elementary and middle school grades at two Denver schools. My community service also has focused on education, including serving as an education chairperson of the Denver branch of the NAACP and founder of Community Organizations Aligned Together or C.O.A.T. Consulting, coaching, and mentoring are strong areas of interest.
I spent my formative years Colorado Springs, I am proud to have grown up in a military family on the Air Force Academy and is a graduate of Air Academy High School!
