Commercial and Residential Property Inspections

My name is Darrell Anderson, I am owner of Omni Property Inspections & Environmental. I specialize in Residential and Commercial property inspections throughout Colorado. I truly enjoy this profession not only because it gives me an opportunity to serve the community that I have been a part of for over 40 years. It also allows for me to provide valuable information and education to prospective home buyers, homeowners and investors in a real estate transaction.

What role do you play in your Industry?

Why & How did you get involved in your industry?

  • Before becoming a CPI I worked in the construction field, specifically residential/commercial framing and drywall for 14 years. Within that timeframe I learned a tremendous amount from the various trades, so my experience and familiarity of building philosophy exceeds that of a typical inspector.

What do you love most about your role in your industry?

  • The thing I love the most about my role in this industry is being in a position to help people gather valuable information and insight that assists in making a major financial decision.

What is the best advice you have received about how to impact your industry?

  • The best advice that I ever received is just as valuable today as it was years ago and that's " you work for the client."

What do you think are the top 3 things that help people excel in your industry?

  • Honesty. Thoroughness. Excellent Communication.

What encouragement would you give to those who are interested in being in your industry?

  • Just like with most things, the more that you put in the more you will get out. Experience comes in time, be patient. Keep an open mind and be willing to learn.

What do you think is the most important qualities for people to have in your industry?

  • Honesty. Accountability. Integrity. Continuing Education.

What obstacles have you overcome, or are you overcoming to excel in your industry?

  • That trust is not something that is given, it's earned over time.

What accomplishments are you most proud of in your life?

  • I am proud of the person that I am and continue to be. Life is full of challenges, ups and downs but one thing remains constant, as long as you remain true to yourself and keep your best foot forward, you'll end up on the right side of things.

Who is is one person that has influenced your direction in life? Explain How.

  • My wife for sure. She is such an inspiration for me.

What advice would you give to the younger generation?

  • I know we all live in a technology driven society and it does add certain convenience but relying on that technology can inhibit critical thinking and social skills. So, less screen time and more real-life experiences.

What do you want your legacy to be?

  • That I was a good person who strived to do the best at all times. That I gave all to family, friends and I cared.

What else would you like people to know about you?

  • I love to run long distances, sports of all kinds. I like cooking. I volunteer. I enjoy life and believe that good is all around us.
