Why & How did you get involved in your industry?
- I wanted to be my own boss. Helping our black providers and small business owners to understand that as a community, we to can help each other. I take pride in knowing that I’m building a legacy for my children, teaching them that they are more than what the system has planned for them.
What do you love most about your role in your industry?
- I love that we are helping providers and business owners stay focus on their patients and customers by growing their business.
What is the best advice you have received about how to impact your industry?
- I was told about 2 years ago, Stay consistent and be yourself. That statement helped me through this process, even when I thought I couldn’t do it.
What do you think are the top 3 things that help people excel in your industry?
- Educating them, making them aware of all of their options is priority. Staying consistent and understanding how to stand out.
What encouragement would you give to those who are interested in being in your industry?
- Know what you want out of life. Nothing comes easy, so work very hard to strive to do and be great, because you are greatness!
What do you think is the most important qualities for people to have in your industry?
- Courage. It takes courage to want to do Medical Billing, to be able to speak elegantly to a doctor. Doctors are known to be prestige and knowledgeable about their profession. Sometimes it can be intimidating, but you have to stand strong and know that what you have to offer is helping that doctor.
What obstacles have you overcome, or are you overcoming to excel in your industry?
- Networking, finding the right business owners and doctors to be just the right fit. There are so many providers, but it was important that I work with my fellow community. My knowledge and professionalism is needed in the black community. I believe in supporting and growing us.
What accomplishments are you most proud of in your life?
- My biggest accomplishment is being an owner of my own company and becoming a homeowner at the age of 30. Everyone has a story, but God has truly blessed me and my family.
Who is is one person that has influenced your direction in life? Explain How.
- Michelle, she was one of the reasons I started my medical billing company. Her grace and generosity that was given to me 5 years ago in the business industry, helped mode me into being the business woman I am today.
What advice would you give to the younger generation?
- I would honestly just educated the younger generation, there’s so many thing in life to do and we are all uniquely made. We give different things to life. We deserve to be whomever we want to be! Know that you can do anything you put your mind to!
What do you want your legacy to be?
- Legacy; I want my legacy to be known as I made a difference in our community. My children will see that I was a first generation to be someone and breaking generation curses, so they can follow in footsteps.
What else would you like people to know about you?
- I’m a woman black owned business who supports our community. My Billing and Accounting company allows me to offer different insight into your company. Know that I give my all and I’m worth it.
