My name is Anthony Temple, I am a serial entrepreneur starting and operating several businesses in e-commerce the tech industry, movie industry and the jewelry industry to name a few. I specifically took a interest in the jewelry industry due to the high demand for jewelry in our community but low to no suppliers of gold and diamond companies owned and operated by African Americans. So my wife and I created “Temple Custom Jewelers” and the “BlackJewelersAssociation” to network with other business owners and inspire like minded individuals who want to get established in the industry.

Why & How did you get involved in your industry?

  • To show the people in our community other options/ opportunities to build and establish generational wealth and operate, buy, trade within there communities.

What do you love most about your role in your industry?

  • The opportunity to network with my people and create opportunities within my community.

What is the best advice you have received about how to impact your industry?

  • Due to my choice of industry none. However if I were to give advice to someone else I would tell them to “create your opportunity and make it happen, do not let anyone discourage you!” With change is much effort.

What do you think are the top 3 things that help people excel in your industry?

  • The top three things that help people excel in this industry is persistence, marketing so people will know who you are and over exceeding customer expectations. In this industry we have to go beyond our “competitors” to make the difference.

What encouragement would you give to those who are interested in being in your industry?

  • Encouragement I give to those interested in this industry is, great and life changing success is possible with this industry of choice. Patience is virtue discrimination will always come with change.

What do you think is the most important qualities for people to have in your industry?

  • Most important qualities for people to have in this industry is punctuality, communication, innovation.

What obstacles have you overcome, or are you overcoming to excel in your industry?

  • Finding quality distributors willing to work with African Americans.

What accomplishments are you most proud of in your life?

  • Being a Chicago native, coming to San Diego California l, 6 years later opening a black owned jewelry store in Westfield Mission Valley Mall.

What advice would you give to the younger generation?

  • Stay focused, you are changing history as we know it.

What do you want your legacy to be?

  • Generational wealth and influencer within our community.

  • I strive to be the difference in my community worldwide and appreciate when our people are willing to make the change.
